05.27.05 The Warriors have a new video available to view on the Alternative Press website. Check the site and follow the links. The video is for the song "Downbeat" and is from their upcoming album on Eulogy Records entitled "Beyond The Noise." The current release date is June 20th.
xDeathstarx is currently recording at legendary New Jersey studio Trax East where they have teamed up with producer Eric Rachel for their debut release from Facedown records. The album is set to be called "We Are The Threat" and should be out in September.
In slightly older news, NorCal's On A Warpath have signed a record deal with Hand of Hope Records and plan to have a release out by July.
02.27.05 Well 2006 seems to be the year for great bands to break up... According to a bulletin post from them on myspace, More To Pride is calling it quits. Their last show is on March 12 at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim. Check out the Shows page for more info. No reason was given for the break up.
02.01.05 By My Will are hitting the studio this month to record a full length album. The band is currently without a label but hope to pick one up soon to release the CD. Rumor has it that All Bets Off will have a "special zine and a special 7inch" available at their last show ever this February 10th at 924 Gilman Street.
01.26.05 Here's a bit of news from Carl in First Blood:
FIRST BLOOD needs a drummer and a 2nd guitarist!
Contact: tour@firstbloodrules or call (415) 577-9669
http://www.myspace.com/firstblood
We are tired of not having a solid line-up, constantly teaching new fill-in members our stuff, and playing shows with little or no practice--which leads to sounding like shit. Our good friend and current studio drummer cannot tour anymore because of work obligations. Also, our other guitar player is in another full-time band so he cannot tour either.
If you love playing music, are tired of working a shitty job, sick of school, or just wanna play some good shows and see the world, please get in touch with us. We're nice dudes, especially kyle "the bear" dixon, and we need to complete this band. That being said, here goes...
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be a US citizen (Sorry Canada, but paperwork is expensive)
- Must be able to learn our stuff fast (Ideally, we give you CDs you learn songs = done)
- Must LIVE IN or be WILLING TO TRAVEL to the San Francisco Bay Area ASAP so we can start practicing and go over new songs to get tight for tour. Our first tour starts on February 26th in Seattle, so let's do this now. If you are serious about playing for the band, then come out here.
- Must have good equipment (We all take this band seriously and made sacrifices to make sure we have good equipment to sound good live. We would expect you to do the same.)
- DRUMMERS: Must have good double bass skills, quick hands, and keep time well. (Kyle lost his mind and wrote some crazy songs for our new record so we need a drummer with some skills.)
- GUITARISTS: Must have a decent guitar, and have a good sounding rig (preferably a Mesa Rectifier, 5150, Krankenstein; something that sounds heavy) and be able to do some back-up vocals (because we have a bunch of sing-a-longs.)
- Must be able to TOUR A LOT. We have a new CD coming out in May 2006 on Trustkill Records (who will be giving us a lot of support), tour booking agents for North America/Europe, and contacts to play other countries. We plan on being on tour most of the year to play as many places as we possibly can and hopefully have a lot of fun. We are not trying to sound like a bunch of dicks, but if you are worried about your job/career, school, girlfriend, missing home, what your parents think, or whatever else that might prevent you from playing shows or dropping off a tour, then do not bother contacting us.
- NO EGOS OR ROCKSTARS. We are kids just like everyone else. We want to have fun, play shows, and see the world. If you are looking to get $rich$ or be on the cover of Rolling Stone, then this is not for you.
Well, I hope we don't sound like cocky assholes for writing all of this, but it is really important to us to get a solid line-up together that will be around for the long haul. If you are interested and serious about doing this, then please get in touch.
Thanks,
Carl

12.30.05 More crappy news from the Bay Area... Time For Living have announced that the Rivalry Records showcase on February 25th (see shows page for more info) will be their last show ever. Here is the official statement from the band: "After a healthy dose of the ups and downs of being a band, Time For Living has decided it's time to close the curtain and call it a day. To everyone who's ever supported us, filled in when we were in need, helped with shows, tours, shelter, food to eat, merch to sell, gas money, beer, soda, and burrito money, etc....thank you so so much. We made alot of good freinds through this band, and hopefully those friendships and more will carry over with the future endeavors we plan to get underway.
Also, there are a few people who really deserve special thanks: Mike Hood & WCWW, A.J. Cardinal(r.i.p), Erik Thomas & Insipid Productions, Naoma, Ryan, Dave, and the rest of the Staff @ 924 Gilman St. for giving us awesome, memorable shows, and much needed support in the past & present. The last four years have been a blast! None of us would trade what we've been through with this band for anything. Take Care, Time For Living". In better news Hoods are hitting the road with Folsom and Palehorse for what will surely be an awesome tour. Below are the dates so far. Also, Mike Hood will be releasing the next On A Warpath CD through his label Westcoast Worldwide. San Francisco's heaviest, Animosity, will be hitting the road in February. Check below for the dates. Following that tour they will do a full East Coast tour with Six Feet Under. Lastly, Five Victims Four Graves have signed with New Age Records. Congradulations to them!

12.05.05 In a surprise move, one of the Bay Area's most beloved bands, All Bets Off, have announced they will be playing their final show on February 10, 2006 at 924 Gilman Street. This announcement comes just over a month after the release of their latest CD "We'll Die Here". Here is the FLYER for the show.
11.10.05 I forgot to officially announce it earlier but the new All Bets Off album, "We'll Die Here", is out now. You can and will order right HERE. Starting Point have finished the recording of their 10 song full length entitled, "It's Something You Learn", and will have it available to on their official site very soon. 1917 Records is taking pre-orders on the upcoming 7" from SoCal's Eaten Alive. The website also has mp3s available to download now from the band.
10.23.05 The North Bay's Changing Face has posted a new song called "Dead End" from their recently recorded EP online at hxcmp3.com. There is no release date or label to put the EP out as of now but the band expects to get it out sometime early next year. Just a few days left on the Killing The Dream "In Place Apart" LP pre-order over at Rivalry Records. Street date for this LP release isn't until October 27th, so this is your shot to pick up the record early. Rivalry is running a pre-order package with 2 LPs (1 of each color) which you can access here. Time For Living recently released a new 5 song EP through Rivalry Records as well. Pick it up or if you're too cheap to buy the full 5 songs go to the band's myspace page and download 3 of the songs for free. Finally, don't forget this tuesday, the 25th, to stop in to your local CD store and pick up "The King Is Dead" by Sacramento's Hoods.
08.04.05 Bleeding Through have amazingly passed the 100,000 sales mark for their latest CD, "This Is Love... This Is Murderous". It's been announced that the band's next album will be released on January 10, 2006 and will be called "The Truth". The band is also working on a DVD which is set to include two full live sets, live versions of three songs off of "The Truth", interviews, and behind-the-scenes and backstage tour footage. Expect a Fall release for the DVD.
08.03.05 The metal as hell guys in Animosity checked it from the road with a bit of news. Also available soon is a new limited edition 7inch which you can also pre-order on the website. While It Lasts have recorded a new demo and have the whole thing available to download for free right here. Also in new demo news, Alcatraz has a new recording available to purchase online through Rock Vegas Records. The page says it's a pre-order but apparently it's available now. NorCal's Set It Straight have a sweet pre-order deal going on right now with their soon to be released split with Arizona's Where Eagles Dare. Check out the Twelve Gauge Records website for more info. The split will have four new songs from each band and should ship out with a month or so.
